Greater Angle-wing Katydid

Microcentrum rhombifolium

Description:

About 60mm.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.

Notes:

I was walking a yard with a customer and a large black wasp, carrying this Katydid landed on her lower back. It rested there for a moment and then began climbing her back. I brushed it away with my hat and it dropped the Katydid and flew away. I later recovered the paralyzed Katydid and posed it on a broom. I've never had a more cooperative photo specimen.
