Indeed! I think you spotted a Redshank. I'm right if the leaves have got brown or black spots :)
Hi Melissa. Nice photo of the flowers. I believe it belongs to the plant family Polygonaceae. This reminds me of Marsh Smartweed. I'm from the states though, and I'm not familiar with which species grow in England. This may hlep you to get on the right track. A picture of the leaves is always helpful too in identifying plants.
