Fluted bird's nest

Cyathus striatus

Description:

Each nest are about a cm in width containing 4 to 6 eggs (Peridioles). Cyathus striatus is a saprobic fungus, deriving its nutrition from decaying organic material.

Habitat:

Spotted in a mixed forest on an old rotting log covered with moss.
