Thanks a lot for the info martin... got the sample for preservation purposes. In deed the posterior has the green part.

This Jewel beetle is from Indonesia and is usually green. There is a well known violet form which I believe your spotting is. Notice the posterior tip is green. http://www.wingsoftherainforest.com/item...
