White-necked Petrel

Pterodroma cervicalis

Habitat:

A pelagic species that spends its life at sea returning to land only to breed. Found throughout the open seas of the southwest Pacific. It is only known to breed on Macauley Island in New Zealand's Kermadec Islands and the Australian territories of Norfolk Island and Phillip Island.

Spotted on a pelagic cruise approx. 20 NM east of Southport, QLD, Australia.
