Description:

many ants all coming out of the same dirt mound. about 1-2 centimeters long, blackish-brown with a redish head. had six legs, and had a head, an abdomen and a thorax. it was crawling around in the sunlight, probably looking for food. some were crawling over sticks. they had antennas as well.

Habitat:

was in the school parking lot. on a patch of pine straw where a mound of dirt grew up from the ground a small amount. many ants were entering and exiting the dirt mound.
