Southern Leopard Frog

Rana sphenocephala

Description:

This frog is about 5 cm or 2 in. It has a green body with light stripes down its sides and along the jaw. The legs are brown and the dark spots make them look striped. Long legs and toes. They are nocturnal and carnivorous.

Habitat:

Main drainage canal that goes to Lake Lewisville.

Notes:

The photo was taken with a flash at about 9 pm at night.
