Popcorn Shrimp

Periclimenes Kororensis

Description:

These lovely shrimp live among the swaying polyps of mushroom coral. Usually quite small, this is perhaps the biggest one that I have seen. They are aptly nicknamed Popcorn Shrimp due to the shape and colour of their head. Another name that I have heard for the Popcorn Shrimp is Mushroom Coral Shrimp.

Habitat:

Coral Reef. Mushroom Coral. Took this picture at Darylaut.
