This spectacular butterfly is scarce over most of its range. It was named after Alexander Macleay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_M... who was responsible for much of the entomology collection in the Sydney museum and has other insects named after him. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/819...
