Chara Verde/Green Jay

Chara Verde/Green Jay

Description:

This beautiful and intelligent bird is a tropical species that barely extends its range into the United States in south Texas. Few birds can match the vivid green, blue, black, and yellow colors of the unmistakable green jay. This bird is a common resident in the woodland and brush habitats near the Visitor Center at the Texas National Wildlife Refuge.
