Sri Lankan Leopard

Panthera pardus kotiya

Description:

We waited there a long time hoping to see them move and get some good shots and had the camera set up on a tripod in the back of the Jeep. The driver and guide were both sat in the front. When the leopards started to move the driver started the engine without warning and reversed at high speed to get to a better position. By the time we had recovered the camera they had gone.

Habitat:

Arid coastal lowland with some marshy and jungle areas. Yala National Park.
