Indian Ornamental Tarantula

Poecilotheria regalis

Description:

The Indian Ornamental is a medium to large sized arboreal tarantula, with a legspan reaching up to 7 inches. Of the the genus Poecilotheria, the regalis species is one of the more commonly kept in the pet trade. They can have a tendency towards being defensive and bites from any species in this genus are considered medically significant.

Habitat:

P. regalis is native to Southeastern India thriving in a grassland type of environment.

Notes:

Of the other Poecilotheria species I've kept I think regalis would have to be my favorite so far. They are VERY fast and a bite would pack a pretty serious punch.
