Arsenura Moth

Arsenura ciocolatina

Description:

Saturniidae, Arsenura sp., Arsenura ciocolatina, CeibaTops, Rio Amazonas, Loreto, Peru

Notes:

Although several experts (Wolfgang Nässig, Bill Oehlke, Roberto Peruca) looked at this moth, none of them would confirm for 100% the species without the native specimen. You need to measure the wingspan meaning probably harm if not killing the moth. That is definitely not the aim to get an ID for me! Bill Oehlke IDed this one finally as Arsenura ciocolata!!
