Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Male)

Archilochus colubris

Description:

There were three hummingbirds doing their aerial dog-fighting for these feeders. I have feeders in 3 different spots in the yard, but they all seem to want the feeder the other ones are at. They might be a family. There's one older male, one female, and one that might be a male or female.

Notes:

Here is the male, who might be "dad" or big brother. The other two are a bit smaller. They look like females, or one of them might be a first year male. The male's red neck looks black or olive green when he turns his head. The male was resting. So that was easy. The camera was set to 1600 frames per second. What you don't see is the 10 or 20 shots that are blurry, before and after the ones that are in focus.
