Eastern pondhawk (female)

Erythemis simplicicollis

Description:

Green with dark banding on tail. Wings transparent with black lace.

Habitat:

Edge of water near stagnant area of pond with lost of organic matter.

Notes:

This was one of the more common dragonflies I saw while at Frontenac (my husband swore that every dragonfly he saw was a different colour)
