Description:

A male Pileated Woodpecker perched and drumming on a utility pole just outside the city limits of Scappoose, Oregon.

Habitat:

Primarily found in mature deciduous or mixed deciduous-coniferous woodlands but can also be seen in suburban areas with extensive patches of unbroken woodlands.

Notes:

This image and video was recorded using on an iPhone 4 using a MeoPix digiscoping adapter in combination with the Meopta S2 HD spotting scope.
