Orange Chinned Parakeet

Description:

Lovely birds, about 18 cm tall. Very social and very loud. These little guys sure were enjoying breakfast!

Habitat:

Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and heavily degraded former forest. Its name comes from a small clump of bright orange feathers located under the lower beak. Like other parrots, it is capable of imitating simple human speech.
