Description:

Foliose lichen; forming an extensive, radiating – 3 inch long – mat; lobate. Lobes. linear to sublinear, elongate to shorter, discrete or contiguous; tips rounded or flabellate, sometimes ascending, no marginal cilia; cilia. Upper surface, gray to dark greenish brown, with some soredia/isidia. Apothecia absent.

Habitat:

Growing on boulder in predominantly deciduous woods on east-facing slope above lake.

Notes:

Possibly Heteroermia speciosa
