Hosenbiene

Dasypoda altercator

Description:

This bee's Latin name is Dasypoda altercator, but in German, they call her a "Hosenbiene" - literally "trouser bee." These photos show her digging her nest. I'm not entirely sure how the digging process works, but she kept coming out of the nest backward, pushing dirt behind her, then darting back in.

Habitat:

Urban

Notes:

Female
