Common Fiscal (Male)

Lanius collaris

Description:

A sturdily built bird, large head in proportion to body. Female differentiated by rufous flanks, where missing in males. Perches conspicuously on branches, posts and wire fences.

Habitat:

This specimen was feeding around a wetland, I observed him catching and eating the frog that can be seen in this series.
