Skink

Notes:

Spotted in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, OK. I was only able to snap one shot before it ran into its nest...which would explain the other picture accompanying this spotting.

That's the place it ran. I was kind of shocked myself when I saw it do that.

Nice spot! Based on your spotting location I would lean heavily toward five-lined skink (Plestiodon fasciatus). This one is tough in eastern Oklahoma because the five-lined skink and the broad-headed skink have overlap in their ranges. They also resemble each other in many ways, especially when the broad-headed skink is still a juvenile. We end up relying on scale counts to separate them, and that means having detailed close-up images or having the lizard in-hand.
