A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Rana catesbeianus
I originally had this guy down as a green frog but a froggy expert pointed out my mistake. The two species are in the same genus but there are a few differences that distinguish them from one another. If you aren't sure what kind you've spotted check out http://www.ehow.com/how_2184972_distingu... Hopefully it will be helpful :)
Ah, there are not nearly as many frogs in your area and they are pretty easy to learn Here is a good place to start:

I bet you will have the frogs in your area learned in no time!
Thank you for pointing that out! I'm afraid I'm a little biased toward mammals and birds, and I don't spend nearly enough time learning about the different amphibians or reptiles in my area :)
Nice Catch Lisa! I must be rather tired from my trip back home today. This is clearly a bullfrog.
Let me be the very first to say, Welcome to Project Noah. I hope you come to love this every growing community of nature lovers as much as I do. Thanks for sharing this and your other spottings with all of us. I look forward to seeing more spottings from you in the future.
