Description:

A black and yellow wasp that can be recognized by its long, narrow waist. Female Mud Daubers build mud nests in sheltered locations (like man-made structures or underneath rock ledges).

Notes:

Not aggressive and if they do sting, it's mild. Spotted at Whittier Narrows Nature Center.
