Seen in a mangrove swamp within Big Cypress National Preserve.

Notes:

Sometimes confused with the Old World little egret, Egretta garzetta.

Beautiful bird. Unfortunate accident regarding the other leg? :-) I think its amazing how they can hide a leg and foot that big, all while doing a balancing act. Thanks for sharing Mauna.
