California king snake

Lampropeltis getula californiae

Description:

The reason for cropping this picture is that I found this snake chopped up in half in the middle of a state park....it was definitely not the act of an animal but a person/people and the entire picture would be too Graphic.

The California Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula californiae) is a non-venomous colubrid snake found in the western United States.

I kinda thought as much though I have the entire pic. I hated seeing it in that state and I am sure similar sentiments would be echoed throughout this community.

No need to remove it Reza. This is fine. I was just saying that sometimes we get pictures of mutilated snakes that have to be removed because they are way too graphic and gross. Your photos here are fine, and this spotting would be okay to add to the US Snakes mission also. Thanks!

Oh I can remove it no problem at all, I just wanted an Id on it because I was not sure what type of snake it was.

I echo Kevin's previous comment. And thank you for choosing to show these partial pictures, as that makes the job easier for the Project Noah Rangers. Unfortunately we do occasionally get graphic spottings of mutilated snakes that have to be removed. This one and any other US snake spottings can be added to this mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1202....

Sad someone killed this snake these non-venomous harmless snakes eat rattlesnakes. Funny how everything in the state parks are protected and this still goes on.
