Nepita conferta is one of the most common species of arctiid in southern India, but not sure about Sri Lanka. But there are many color variations in Nepita Conferta I observed, so I'm Most positive that it is Nepita conferta.

Wikipedia says "genus consists of only one species, Nepita conferta"
so i think mine is also Nepita conferta

Great spotting! I would confirm Arctiidae and Nepita sp., but I would not dare to confirm Nepita conferta 100%, just because I do not know this genus/species enough. But I agree, that they look very similar!
And it is definitely not Amphicallia sp., this is from Africa.

Same as Chief's spotting except that the Amphicallia genus seems to be African moths.
