Description:

A native of South America, introduced elsewhere in the tropics & subtropics. Altitudinal range from 400-740 m. Found on the edges of vine forest and rainforest and in some drier types of open forest and woodland. Weed indisturbed places.

Habitat:

Growing as an ornamental in a large semi-urban yard & garden in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.

Notes:

This is a prolific species, rapidly spreading its reach. It is also an insect (and spider) magnet!
