Udea alpinalis

Description:

Udea alpinalis is a European Alpine species of moth of the family Crambidae. It has two white spots on the forewings which are more or less kidney-shaped. With a wingspan of 15–17 mm, it flies from June to August depending on the location.

Habitat:

Spotted on Pulsatilla alpina (Alpine pasqueflower), alt. 1500m ASL.

Notes:

The larvae feed on Senecio species. Spotted in La Pierreuse (meaning "stony place"), a nature reserve in the Swiss Alps. http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/la-pierr...
