Beautiful bird, related to cormorants and able to swim and stay underwater for quite some time. After fishing they can be found warming up with its beautiful wings open. Super sharp beak, which explains the "Darter" nickname.
All over the world, warm shallow waters. This one was in the La Tobara mangrove in San Blas Nayarit, Mexico, truly a birder's paradise.
