Didelphis virginiana
Virginia Opossum Didelphis virginiana
Cool! It's a Virginia Oppssum, Didelphis virginiana. They are the only marsupial north of Mexico. Isn't that cool?
I am rather new myself, I have only been here about 3 months. There are many wonderful people here who are more then willing to help. You can always ask a Ranger, or even ask me if you wish. If I do not know the answer, I am pretty confident, that I can get it for you. I look forward to seeing more of your spottings in the weeks and months to come.
@williefromwi, thanks for the help! I'm very new at this and any help is great.
Welcome to Project Noah, LanaRayman. You have a wonderful spotting of a very young Opossum. Project Noah, uses the scientific name of the spotting to put them into their proper category. To find the scientific name one only needs to do a search using the common name and then click on wiki and get the scientific name there. At the present time because this this does not have the scientific name added to it, it is in lumped in the category of unknown. To get it classified properly all you need do is click edit, and add the scientific name to your spotting.
Just trying to help you better understand.
