Neurothemis ramburii
Length: 60mm Wingspan: 55mm Diet: Insects Description: Bright to dark red head, thorax and abdomen. Black markings along the length of the abdomen. Red wings that turn clear just before the bright red pterostigma. Black veination to wings Female - similar to male but red replaced with golden-yellow
Location: Asia Habitat: Fields, near pools and pond
This species is extremely similar to Neurothemis terminata. Males can be distinguished by their wings. N.terminata has white tips to the wings that do not pass the pterostigma. N.ramburii has white tips that extend past the pterostigma.
