Pyralid moth

Scenedra decoratalis

Description:

A very small moth with about 18mm wingspan. Looks like a mini chook.

Habitat:

Under strong night lights at the local school.

Notes:

Compare with Endotricha puncticostalis based upon the white markings along the costa. Other specimen images support this although the rest of the wing patterns are highly variable. http://lepbarcoding.org/australia/specie... http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Tax...
