Description:

Family: Limacodidae. Small chunky moth with rounded wings. Usual position is tent-like. This seems to be an atypical position making ID difficult. TL 9-16 mm. Bright orange thorax and abdomen. Colors are variable. This is light brown, light red, and tan. Hosts: Trees and shrubs including hickory, maple and oak.

Habitat:

Woodlands and meadows. Attracted to light
