Description:

Small stand of river cane 'ihya' next to the WCU Cherokee Center (1594 Acquoni Rd, Cherokee, NC). River cane stand is growing along side Cherokee Center and actually inside the small shed behind the Cherokee Center. River cane is a resource for Cherokee culture basket making.

Habitat:

River terraces, flood plans, river banks.
