Spicebush Swallowtail

Papilio troilus

Description:

Upper surface of forewing is mostly black with white-yellowish spots along the margin. The upper surface of the hindwing has an orange spot on the costal margin and blue scales. The underside of the hindwing has pale green marginal spots.

Habitat:

On scat (fox or coyote maybe?) in the middle of a hiking trail at Pratt Nature Center. Apparently, one creature's scat is another creature's treasure.
