A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anoplognathus sp.
This popular orange beetle has furry legs and slight pitting along the lateral grooves in the elytra.
Found, surprisingly on Acacia.
This specimen was transferred onto gum leaves for the photo session. It holds its hind legs out sometimes, as if to suggest it is larger than it seems, or to discourage a predator, who might think it is a bit prickly to tangle with.
