Description:

it is a small squirrel found on shrubs and thick areas of forest. They are brown with dark bands on the back.They are elusive in nature.

Habitat:

This species is endemic to southern India and Sri Lanka

Notes:

It is a very rare squirrel.it can be seen occasionally in- 1. thandikudi-kodaikanal 2. topslip-Indira Gandhi wildlife sanctuary 3.vellimalai- Periyar ws.
