Crazy!! Since you have 2 shots with different poses I guess this guy would moving around. This would speak against a fungal attack on a caterpillar, which was my first impression. I have never seen such a texture on/of a caterpillar. Looks like fluffy cotton or the edge of a carpet. Size?
