Description:

About 10 mm long, this moth had shiny wings that were divided into an anterior pale part and a darker and more silvery posterior half with blotchy patterns. The two sections were separated by a purplish grey band. Mouth parts formed a snout and antennae were held straight out.

Storage shed

Notes:

The larvae can infest a wide range of food products. First seen in New York in 1856 in stored cornmeal (then known as Indian Meal). It i now widespread. Family: Pyralidae
