Plantains are a very nutritious salad green. They can be applied to a variety of skin problems, from insect bites to boils, as a poultice. Their anti-toxic, styptic, and anti-histamine properties being useful in this regard. A tea or tincture is useful for colds and lung issues, due to the plants demulcent, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory properties.
