Northern Flying Squirrel

Description:

Small squirrel, approximately the size of a red squirrel. Flat furry tail. Flaps of skin between front and back legs. White underside. Grey/brown on topside with a darker/black line where the 2 colors meet. Black beady eyes. Glides when jumps from heights.

Perfect captures! I've worked with this species in California, and never got pictures of them. Great to see photos like this!

This is terrific! We have the Southern version (Glaucomys volans) here in Florida. We have friends that live farther out of town that see them often. I've been out a few times in search of them but have always struck out.
