Four-spotted Cup Moth caterpillar

Doratifera quadriguttata

Description:

Small pale green caterpillar with intricate pink, dark green, black and white markings, four openings can be seen which sprout out 'hair' tussocks and emit a liquid to deter predators. Soft spines protrude along each side.

Habitat:

Found on Fine-leaved Paperbark tree.

Thanks Mark. This one was close to 3cm long, one other was smaller and still another was larger so not sure exactly how big they grow before transformation, but I believe 3cm might be getting close. The 'tussocks' that sprout out are a beautiful deep pink/red.
