Blue Chromis

Description:

Photo take at -50 ft on a coral reef , this is a common small reef fish in the Caribbean sea about 14 cm long , Body laterally flattened, oval in profile, with s slender, deeply forked tail. Body brilliant blue, with dark on the nape, along the back and on the borders of the tail . No black spot at the base of the pectoral fin. Dorsal fin ending in a sharp point. Size up to 15 cm.

Habitat:

Common above deep outer reefs, down to 60 m. Feeds in aggregations on small zooplankton, mainly copepods. Retreats into coral crevices when frightened. Found from Florida all the Caribbean sea , Central America to north Brazil.
