Banded Pipefish/Ringed Pipefish

Dunckerocampus dactyliophorus

Description:

Banded Pipefish are usually found in small groups, usually at least pairs. They like to hang out in small overhangs or caves. They have a very unique tail and what you can't see in the photo (or many times even the naked eye) are the "fleshy streams coming back from its head, trailing sometimes metres behind the fish itself (wikipedia)"

Habitat:

Coral Reef. Small caves and overhangs. Saw these two at Arthur's Rock
