Puff Adder Shy Shark

Haploblepharus edwardsii

Description:

This small sized Shark is not of the typical grey colour, but light brown with white spots and patches of orange. It is a bottom dweller, mostly found resting at the sea bottom. It is called Shy Shark because when approached, it may turn its head around towards it pectoral fin to 'hide'.

The Puff Adder Shy Shark tends to stay at the bottom, mostly under ledges or rocks but they do hang out in the open too among shells. They can be quite well camouflaged among the shells. They are harmless and small in size, this one is just around 18-20 inches.
