Orb spider

Description:

A large orb spider resting on a leaf appears to have a twisted leg. It is resting on a thread of her web and will indicate when she has caught a volunteer for lunch. Larger insects such as moths can stay trapped for seconds and will escape if she doesn't quickly administer a deadly bite.

Habitat:

This spider and her web were constructed entirely in a small tree. This was on the roadside.
