Pic 3 is one I often take from a distance so I can study it to see if the owl is there or not. If it is I approach quietly and slowly as close as possible without being seen, focus the camera on another part of the building, then move and take the picture. As you can see it knew I was there anyway, but allowed me a couple of shots before a cyclist came by and frightened it off.
