Spicebush Swallowtail

Papilio troilus

Description:

Caterpillar of the Spicebush Swallowtail.

Habitat:

Was feeding on the potted spicebush on the deck in my garden.

Notes:

Sadly, this specimen had left the spicebush, probably to pupate, and did not make it to wherever he was going. His siblings, however, went off to pupate another day.
