Hypolimnas Anomala
This beautiful type of butterfly is a dark brown sort of color, with the exception of the white tiny dots it has on the outer edges of it's wings, and also near it's head. It looks to have very skinny legs, a small head in comparison to the rest of it's body, and also long antennas. Also it has even smaller white dots on it's head. It's definitely not larger than a thumb, around 2 inches or so.
SAS is a Secondary Rainforest. SAS is located on Singapore which is a tropical habitat. As you can see in the second photo it flies and lands on plants/trees with fruits on it, it may just be the time we saw it, but it did land on it.
Hi Singapore American School! This butterfly is not a Common Mime (Papilio Clytia). If you look carefully at the markings on the Common Mime (including in the reference provided) you'll see that they are very different from those on your butterfly. Have a look here: http://www.butterflycircle.com/checklist...
Your butterfly is in the family Nymphalidae. I have made another species suggestion.
