Eutreta noveboracensis Fruit Fly

Eutreta noveboracensis

Description:

Gorgeous fly that had black wings covered in white dots, striped eyes, and a hairy thorax. Unfortunately, it didn't hang around long enough for me to get any other shots.

Habitat:

Spotted resting on vegetation in a meadow that was next to a river and deciduous forest.

Looks like Eutreta noveboracensis or Eutreta angusta? Definitely Eutreta sp., a genus in the Tephritidae family (fruit flies).
